I've had an early Christmas present! The entire der Ring des Nibelungen epos is being sung at the Stockholm opera, and my mother is taking me to all four performances. I've been wanting to see it for ages, but it hasn't been played here since the 60's, and tickets for the new production have been very hard to come by. It's going to be a rough month, I suspect, with four all-nighters for four Saturdays almost in a row in late December and January, but I'm looking forward to it so much! We both enjoy opera and usually go and see at least one or two a year, but I've never seen a single Wagner opera before. About time, I think!
